How To Hold Pendulum

I have noticed in this journal’s statistics that many visitors come to this site looking for advice on using a pendulum. As I write this, the statistics for today show that someone searched this site with the question ” Do I have to loop my pendulum over my finger?” So that is the question I am going to address.

My pendulum chain has a small bead at the holding end of the chain. The chain is 8″ [200mm) long. I use my pendulum occasionally during healing sessions to tell me where I need to precisely direct some energy.

I hold the pendulum by the bead only and as lightly as possible using my thumb and first finger. I steady the pendulum away from the area I want to work and wait until it hangs as still as is possible. My arm is supported at the elbow only. The elbow to the pendulum is free of any contact with other objects.

When all is settled I will gently move the pendulum into the area that I want to work. I will use as little movement as possible. The next part is the most difficult element to explain but I will try. I sensitise the finger and thumb and extend it through the entire hand.

For healing use, I am not looking for massive movements in the pendulum, I am simply feeling for resistance. Imagine the force you would feel if the pendulum was a magnet and it was being pushed away by another magnet. That is how I sense where to work.

It is a very delicate sensation of resistance. As I very slowly move nearer an area with the pendulum I become aware of a force stopping it moving . I have actually seen the hanging angle alter as the pendulum holds back as the hand moves forward. It is probably no more than a  half of a degree, as I said the forces are very sensitive.

I believe that the longer the chain (within reason of course) the better the sensitivity. Shortening that length with a loop over a finger does not help and in my view blocks the sensitivity.

Once the pendulum has narrowed down the area to work I will start the healing routine immediately.
